Technology news: municipal solid waste into biogas by means of dry process

15.02.2012

Zorg Biogas AG, a Swiss engineering bureau, started offering a new technology for municipal solid waste (MSW) recycling. Biogas plants using this method are cheaper then before. New tech is dry anaerobic composting. Wet process was good for much kind of wastes of agriculture and food industry but it was very expensive. There also were limitation to digest substrates highly polluted for example with metals or glass . There is no dilution with water, no pumps, no mixers, no presses, no separators in “dry” biogas plants. Solid raw material is put to square reactors that is similar to garage. Raw material is sprayed by percolating bacterial liquid then and gives biogas.
