Bioethanol distillery at Moldavian village Hincesti produces biogas out of wastewater

The raw material for the biogas plant is mollases distillery wastewater. 1 of 2 errected reactors is in operation. The second one is used as a mollases storage temporarily. 80 tons of wastewater daily are converted into 2700 m3 of biogas with 65% methane now. One of the distillery boilers is running completely on biogas. On the full load biogas plant will produce 7000 m3 of biogas daily. This is the biggest biogas plant in Europe of its kind. There are thousands working with manure or silage and there are only few with distillery wastewater. Zorg Biogas AG provided technology, equipment supply and start-up of the plant.
