Information
From 1 m3 of distillery slop 60 - 70 m3 of biogas can be produced. When recycling 1 m3 of brewer’s spent grains 100-160 m3 of biogas can be produced.
Technology peculiarities and operational
principle
Alcohol production waste products are the best raw
material for biogas production, but there are some peculiar features for their
recycling. Two stage digestion technology is used for that recycling. Oxydation
and methane production processes detachment allows make the process stable
without any need to add other organics.
Organic wastes of distilleries and breweries are different in their
characteristics but technology for their recycling (utilization) is the same -
two stage technology. Two stage digestion technology assumes detachment of two
main stages of digestion in terms of place and duration of decomposition.
Plant as a rule use natural gas for technological needs. In case plant
uses adjustable burners biogas can be used without any additional treatment. In
case burners are not adjustable biogas plant must be equipped with biogas
treatment system that produces natural gas.
In case plant owners are
not interested in liquid bio-fertilizer sale, biogas plant can be equipped with
waste water treatment facility that will treat the effluent accordingly. For
example membrane waste water treatment systems reduce COD and BOD up to level
accepted for water discharge to sewage system, open water surface or plant
waste water treatment system.
