Ukrainians will help Turkish in building biogas plants

«ZORG Ukraine» Ltd. and “ILCI GROUP”, Ankara will construct a biogas plant for cattle manure conversion into electricity. The cattle farm is “ILCI GROUP” property. The contract was signed on 28.05.2009 y.

«ZORG Ukraine» Ltd. implements German technologies and will execute project engineering, equipment supply and start up services. "ILCI GROUP" will execute construction works. Taking into consideration "ILCI's GROUP" tremendous construction experience in such projects like dam, tunnels construction, this part of the project is planned to be finished by the end of year 2009.

Biogas plant will recycle 50 tons/day of cattle manure and 3 tons/day of corn silage per day. Produced biogas will be used in co-generator to produce 320 kWh electricity. With upcoming adoption of Turkish "green tariff", which makes 13 Euro cents per 1 kW, the biogas plant return of investment period is 3 years.

"ILCI GROUP" was in the process of partner selection for the1,5 years. Choice was made in favor of Ukrainian company due to the fact that best price/quality conditions were offered. German technology applied by «ZORG Ukraine» Ltd. appeared to be twice less in price.

Turkey already has several biogas plants that use organic fraction of MSW (municipal solid waste). And this installation will be the first one that uses cattle manure as a feed stock. A real boom for biogas plants construction is expected after the completion of this project.
