Pigs will provide Dnepropetrovsk (Ukraine) with electricity and gas recourses
"ZORG UKRAINE" has launched an engineering project for construction of
the biogas plant for a pig-rearing agricultural complex in the
Pidgorne village, Dnipropetrovsk region (Ukraine). According to a
plant design, production-wastes of the pig-rearing complex will be
used to produce energy.
Biogas plant to be constructed will function both as the purification station and thermoelectric plant. Administration of the agricultural complex had previously planed to construct a concrete sewerage for animal manure. Foundation for the sewerage had already been finished, by the time when administration decided to stop the construction works due to proximity of the Pidgorne village and Dnepropetrovsk. The sewerage would not be able to manage the purification process of the production-wastes, moreover the money spent on construction would not be refunded in the long-term perspective.
Productive capacity of the biogas plant is 40 tons of production-wastes per day. The pig-rearing complex is designed for 500
breading saws and 10000 pigs per year. Plant's overall productive capacity is 400 000 m3 of biogas per annum. Capacity of the
thermoelectric station is 125 kilowatt-hour of electricity and 150 kilowatt-hour of thermal energy.
The biogas plant in Pidgorne village will have one reactor tank, and thus is considered to be relatively small in design. At present
moment, "ZORG" manages engineering projects of 5 other biogas plants in Ukraine. The largest biogas plant will have 30 reactor tanks and productive capacity of about 40 millions m3 of biogas (equivalent to natural gas) per annum.
