Biogas drying at 150 Nm³/h · 35 → 10 °C
Application
GC-150-35-10 is a refrigerated biogas dryer for gas treatment upstream of gas-consuming equipment. The nominal flow is 150 Nm³/h; gas enters at 35 °C and leaves the cooler at 10 °C. Cooling removes part of the water vapour as condensate and reduces liquid moisture entering subsequent gas-treatment stages.
Operating principle
Biogas passes through the gas heat exchanger and transfers heat to the refrigeration circuit. Cooling to 10 °C causes water vapour to condense. A gas-liquid separator with a mesh demister captures droplets, and an automatic drain removes the collected liquid. The separated gas remains saturated with water vapour at its outlet temperature; further cooling in the pipework can cause condensation again.
Refrigeration circuit
The selected duty provides a cooling capacity of 11 kW. The refrigeration module comprises a compressor circuit and an air-cooled condenser. Heat is discharged to the ambient air. Refrigeration control maintains the specified gas temperature as the load changes. Unrestricted airflow through the condenser is required for heat rejection.
Materials and configuration
The gas-contact surfaces of the heat exchanger and separation assembly are made of AISI 316L stainless steel. The casing and supporting structure are steel with a protective coating. Cold surfaces and condensate lines are insulated. Drain-line heating is provided for operation below freezing. The standard configuration is intended for installation outside hazardous areas.
Control
The automation system provides local start and stop, temperature monitoring, operating indication and fault indication. The touchscreen displays parameters and operating history. Functions include high- and low-pressure protection for the refrigeration circuit, motor overload protection, remote start and stop, fault signalling and data exchange via RS485 / Modbus RTU.
Connections and operation
The unit requires a 400 V, three-phase, 50 Hz supply. The nominal flow of 150 Nm³/h refers to normal conditions of 0 °C and 1.013 bar. Coarse mechanical impurities and liquid slugs must be prevented from entering the dryer. Access to the heat exchanger, condensate drain and electrical cabinet must be provided for maintenance.
Options
Gas reheating after drying can reduce relative humidity before downstream equipment. A reheater, activated carbon filter, gas blower, external pipework and installation work are not included in the stated chiller price. Versions for a different electrical supply or special operating conditions are ordered separately.
Per unit, EUR, excluding VAT, EXW. Packaging, freight, installation and commissioning are charged separately. Gas reheating is not included.
