Trace elements

A mixture of trace elements that are required by bacteria involved in the anaerobic fermentation process. The trace elements are what bacteria themselves are made of and what they lack in raw materials. Other names for trace elements are micronutrients and micro-elements.

Unlike other mixtures, the proposed additive contains trace elements in a special chelated form (jelly). In conventional mixtures, microelements are in a powder form, which settles to the bottom of a biogas reactor and the efficiency decreases significantly. In the mixture, trace elements float throughout the reactor. Moreover, the organic binder is an edible packaging that helps absorption of trace elements by bacteria.

The additive allows to completely eliminate the use of manure when fermenting maize silage, distillery stillage or spent grain. And even in the biogas plants operating with pure manure, the addition of trace elements offers efficiency advantages.

The daily need of trace elements for a 1 MW biogas plant makes 1.2 litter.

The cost of trace elements is less than 1% of the self-cost of biogas. However, thanks to them, biogas yield often increases by 30-50%. Even, if we assume that the biogas yield increases by only 1%, then the microelements already pay off.

Application

1.2 l per day at 1 MW capacity.

Highly effective in minimum doses!

The micronutrient solution should preferably be mixed with the substrate, immediately before addition into the fermentation tank. An alternative option is direct input into the fermentation tank. In this case, an appropriate point of input must be selected which will ensure fast and reliable mixing with the contents of the fermentation tank.

At an electrical capacity of 1 MW (24,000 kWh daily power production), the dose to be input into the fermentation tank is 1.2 liters of per day. For other capacity ratings, reference must be made to this specification to adjust dosage accordingly. First-time dosage may differ from this amount as specified.
