Fe Concentrate for H₂S removal

Fe Concentrate is a highly concentrated powdered source of reactive iron based on Fe(OH)₃, intended for efficient hydrogen sulphide removal directly in the digester of a biogas plant.

The product contains 90% dry matter, which ensures high reaction efficiency and minimal reagent consumption.

Principle of H₂S removal
Active iron reacts directly in the substrate:
Fe(OH)₃ + H₂S → FeS ↓ + H₂O

It forms:
insoluble iron sulphide which prevents the re-formation of hydrogen sulphide in the biogas.

Why a high dry matter content is important
When using liquid iron-containing reagents:
part of the mass is water

In Fe Concentrate:
more than 40% active material

This means:

  • lower transport costs
  • lower reagent consumption
  • stable reaction
  • high concentration of active Fe
  • logistics savings

Example
For a 1MW electric power 100% maize silage-based biogas plant or 4 tpd biomethane per day the usage is 40 kg/day on the constant basis.  With the usage of the iron hydroxide in the biogas reactor the sulphur level in biogas is reduced from 1500-2000 ppm to 60-80 ppm.
