Dung-to-energy project in Kazakhstan

The Kurma poultry farm in Kazakhstan produced the first million kWh of electric energy out of its waste. Dung produced by 750,000 laying hens is delivered for treatment at the biogas plant. The produced biogas powers the co-generator.

All the electrical energy is supplied to the public grid under a green tariff law. Zorg's biogas plant at Kurminskoe is the largest operating in Kazakhstan. The electrical power capacity of 1MW is enough for the farm’s consumption and that of several villages nearby.
