Feces-to-energy project under construction

The construction of a 2 MW biogas plant has been finished at a city sewage treatment plant in Voroshnevo. Currently, Zorg Biogas is installing equipment with commissioning scheduled for June 2020.

Sewage sludge and poultry dung will serve as substrates for the biogas plant. Biogas will fuel a Jenbacher power plant. The project is economically very attractive since the electric energy will be sold at an increased tariff rate of 0,20 per kWh.
